Sazani, a hidden gem. Taken from the old Swahili term “left over” with its rocky terrain, no good for farming, the long tides tricky for fishing, and facing Eastwards we have a drier/windier climate than the western coasts. Shazani, the areas geographical name, was seen as undesirable. But it has a charm, and we have a vision, welcome to, our wanderers wonder. Our once family beach house, built in the 1990’s, opened her doors for travellers in 1996, with a heritage of 3 generations, providing a warm welcome escape, with its elevated views, sense of calm, natural surroundings, and homely hospitality, in a unique private lodge setting.
