Founded and run by former professional cyclists Pedro and Herminio Díaz Zabala, this establishment offers its clients close treatment and a homely atmosphere . The cyclists belonged to the GD Teka, Reynolds and Once teams, between 1985 and 1998. The Hotel Zabala is a modern construction from 1992 in a place where there was once an inn , where they had eve (hence the name of Vispieres), the people who came to do business with the Lords of the Villa de Santillana. Within Cantabrian mythology there is a well-known female character, called Viejuca de Vispieres , a beneficial witch originally from the place.
