There is hardly a Bengali family who hasn’t visited Darjeeling at some point in their lives. While it is true that India has developed a great deal of new tourist attractions from north to south, east to west over the past few decades, from swanky hotels to skywalks, modern amenities, as well as an excellent tourism infrastructure, Bengalis are still culturally biased, nostalgic, and possessive of the old, not as glamourous Darjeeling that they used to love, as much as they still do today.
