This house was ordered to be built by the Indian Don Tomás Buergo Pesquera on the eve of marrying and starting a family with his niece María Josefa Díaz Buergo, in 1919. This was a very peculiar situation at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, and typical of wealthy Indians who considered it necessary and positive to lock up in their own family the great capital accumulated with the enormous sweat of their brow.
