Formerly, the town’s apothecary lived in the house located next to the fountain, hence the name of the fountain. At the door of the house, you can still see a small window through which the apothecary dispensed medicines and ointments to the parishioners who came to calm their ailments. The water from the fountain is fresh and flows throughout the year and is one of the best in Aldeanueva, as is said by the large number of people who try it.
