The Mappin family and British Artist Ted Stourton acquired Camelot Castle in 1999, as a private family home, a restoration project began in January 2006 that is both special and unique in the history of restoration. Shortly after acquiring the property they decided to open parts of their home to public guests and today staying at Camelot Castle Estate has been described as an opportunity to have a “Downton Abbey Experience for Everyman”.
