The hipped house has two floors on a rectangular base 28 meters wide by 10 meters deep, as well as a large attic. Construction began in the mid-18th century and annexed rooms such as the dovecote were added The pigeon loft is 6 meters in diameter and has a capacity for 400 pigeon nests. Other annexed rooms are granaries and sheds. At the end of the 19th century it underwent a great expansion, undoubtedly the result of the triumph in the American emigration of its owners – the Tarrio family –, established as booksellers in the Argentine city of Rosario. With this expansion, the construction took on a certain Indian air, becoming known even today as “Casa do Americano”.
